Comfort & Security
comfort: n
1. a state of ease or well being
2. relief from affliction, grief, etc
3. a person, thing, or event that brings solace & ease
4. something that affords physical ease & relaxation

security: n
1. freedom from danger, risk, etc; safety
2. freedom from care, anxiety, or doubt; well founded confidence
3. something that secures or makes safe; protection; defense

One must feel a "freedom from danger," (security) in order to experience "a state of ease or well-being," (comfort). By putting guns into a decorative context I am commenting on the "comfort" that is derived from "security." These works question the relative connection between these two concepts. In order to be comfortable we must feel relatively secure & unthreatened. This begs the question, "How much security is needed to achieve & maintain comfort?"
